Part # EPL-24QP-1X4-250 Price: $2,988.02 Spec Sheet
Fiche technique
|
Made in the USA
The EPL-24QP-1X4-250 Explosion Proof Tank Light from Magnalight is rated Class 1 Division 1 Groups C & D and uses a 400 watt Metal Halide light head to produce 36,000 lumens of light capable of illuminating an area 20,000 square feet in size.
The EPL-24QP-1X4-250 is a quadpod mounted explosion proof tank light and provides 20,000+ square feet of work area coverage with 36,000 lumens of light output. This portable quadpod light has a removable light head measuring 23 7/8 inches in diameter so it can fit into 24 inch man ways for cleaning vessels in the petrochemical industry or cleaning out fuel cells in the marine industry. The metal halide lamp on this unit produces a wide flood pattern of light capable of reaching 200 feet in length that is ideal for illuminating enclosed areas such as tanks and containers and is suitable for hazardous locations where flammable vapors and gases may be present. |
|
|
This portable light quadpod is comprised of a removable metal halide light head mounted atop a solid rubber wheeled cart fabricated from non sparking aluminum. The non sparking, adjustable and collapsible quadpod can be extended to nine feet and collapsed to four and a half feet while wheels on the base of the quadpod feet enable the operator to tilt the unit back and simply roll the entire assembly to a new location. The explosion proof light head can be removed by releasing the hand knob and sliding the light and mounting bracket off of the quadpod support while the legs can be collapsed, aiding in deployment, storage and transport. The lamp can be easily adjusted up, down and locked into position. Included with this tank light is 250 feet of SOOW cord which combined with the ease of mobility and 90 degrees of tilt offered by the metal halide light head provides an effective alternative to often cumbersome explosion proof string lights.
The light head on this unit measures 23 7/8 inches in diameter, which allows it to fit through most standard 24 inch manholes and entry points. The light head can be removed from the quadpod, the quadpod collapsed, and the entire assembly passed through a manhole and reassembled once inside.
This unit can be operated on 120-240 volts 50/60 Hz. This lamp is T3 A temperature rated and includes 250 feet of 14/3 SOOW cord (chemical and abrasive resistant) terminated with a ECP1523 Class 1 explosion proof straight blade plug.

Mine Lighting and Improving Effectiveness and Safety with LEDs
Electrical lighting for mines has predominantly been of a few specific types including incandescent lamps, HID luminaires, and fluorescent tubes. The problems with such mine lighting technologies stems largely from their power requirements and low durability factors. Each of these lighting types is of a construction that utilizes fragile materials such as glass and thin wire filaments that hold little resistance to abusive handling and conditions. Compounding the durability issue is the hazardou [...] |

IECex/ATEX and North American NEC HAZLOC Equipment Classification
North America is presently not operating with the IECex/ATEX schemes although some effort has been made to produce some homogenity between North American and European Standards, most notably the US and Canada's adoption of a Zone system (NEC 505) modeled after European Schemes. However, despite the great similarity between North American and European Zone systems, they are not identical and are not interchangeable.

LED Fluorescent Tube Fixtures: Efficiency Beyond Lumens vs Watts
LEDs retain several distinct advantages over fluorescent lamps. LEDs do not require any ballast for their operation. Confined Space Lighting for Hazardous Locations
Confined spaces represent some of the most dangerous work places in commercial industries. Because of their enclosed nature confined spaces are poorly ventilated and allow volatile gases, fumes, vapors, and particulates to accumulate and increase in atmospheric density to potentially explosive levels.
